Highlights From Student Learning Across Agencies
The FL2P Program recently hosted a series of FL2P Showcases, providing practicum students with the opportunity to highlight how skills learned through the Clinical Reasoning and Case Formulation training are being applied in real-world practice settings. Students representing nine agencies across New Mexico participated in the showcases, sharing organizers, tools, and approaches they have incorporated into their clinical work.
One featured presentation was provided by Caleigh Jones, a graduate student with the Center of Innovation for Behavioral Health and Wellbeing, Quality Service Review Team. Caleigh demonstrated how she applied the Biopsychosocial Spiritual grid from the Clinical Reasoning and Case Formulation training as an Assessment tool using Gallup, New Mexico as an example, while exploring how it could complement other commonly used assessment tools to provide a more holistic understanding of community needs.
Reflecting on her experience with the program, Caleigh shared, “Clinical Reasoning and Case Formulation have taught me how to think outside the box to help understand and assist others with their unique needs. The information and tools provided in the training have given me a strong foundation that I am happy to take with me into clinical practice.”
The FL2P Showcases reflected the program’s mission of strengthening clinical reasoning and case formulation skills while supporting collaboration, professional growth, and real-world learning opportunities for practicum students across New Mexico.
