QIIN Call Demonstrates Educational Systems Improvement

On June 30, the Qualitative Inquiry and Implementation Network (QIIN) welcomed 60 participants from 18 states for a learning session focused on how the Quality Service Review (QSR) can be used to drive educational systems improvement. Cathy Joseph, who holds a Master's in Organization Change and Special Education, and her team shared practical examples of how qualitative inquiry can strengthen decision-making, improve outcomes for children and families, and support continuous quality improvement across educational systems.

QIIN is a national learning community that brings together professionals interested in using qualitative inquiry and person-centered practices to improve human services. Through regular virtual sessions, participants learn from experts, share promising practices, and connect with colleagues from across the country who are working to strengthen systems and outcomes. In these Calls, participants will:

  • Learn how Qualitative Inquiry processes and tools (e.g. - Qualitative Case Review protocols) can increase the quality of human services delivery, improve person (children, youth, adult) and family-centered outcomes, and advance systems change and transformation efforts.
  • Gain exposure to qualitative inquiry models and tools used locally, state-wide, and nationally, and how these models and tools are being used for continuous quality improvement (CQI) purposes, bridging data-to-practice, and engaging people who work in and/or are directly impacted by human service systems in CQI efforts.
  • Join a newly formed learning community for discussing established practices, and sharing promising and emerging practices for qualitative inquiry while improving and advancing their use in public and private/non-profit organizations and systems.
  • Expand their professional network by joining this learning community.
