Certified Trauma Responsive Care Training

The vast percentage of youth in residential treatment have experienced significant trauma and have developed several behavioral psychological survival skills to adapt.  Staff who work in residential settings with traumatized youth experience trauma vicariously through the exposure to challenging and intense survival behaviors of the youth.  This training experience will address the vital importance of staff being well-regulated and trauma attuned in the way they interact with and manage the treatment environment of the milieu. With this knowledge staff are empowered to create and maintain a trauma attuned culture optimizing the staff and youth feeling safe, supported, and the youth better able to begin the process of trauma recovery.
