EMDR Basic Training Application
Welcome!
As part of the Evidence Based Practice Expansion Initiative, the State of New Mexico is sponsoring free EMDR Basic Training for approved NM Behavioral Health Providers. A goal of this initiative is to expand EBP therapeutic services to residents throughout the state, with special focus on youth in the child welfare system, and historically underserved communities such as frontier, rural, and Spanish speaking communities. All EMDR Trainers and Consultants through this initiative are EMDRIA approved.
Qualifications for Training
- Master’s degree or higher in mental health or related field
- Have a current NM professional mental health license
- Be enrolled as a NM Medicaid Behavioral Health Provider
- Be committed to achieving Basic Trained qualification level and providing EMDR in New Mexico

Preference for upcoming training will be given to providers who meet additional priority criteria including those that serve rural, frontier, and tribal communities and those who work with children and youth involved with CYFD and other target populations.
Approved providers will be placed in a queue for upcoming training opportunities. Those that do not meet criteria will receive an email notification.

Providers are welcome to apply at any time. Applications are reviewed upon receiving them even if no training has yet been planned. Please contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the application process.
