Training Description

This 40-hour virtual training prepares caregivers with lived experience parenting a child, youth or young adult with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges for certification as Family Peer Support Workers (FPSWs). It takes and in-depth look at the Parent Peer Support Practice (PPSP) Model, exploring the roles of FPSWs and the phases of the model. Confidentiality, professional boundaries, ethics and working effectively with child serving systems are discussed.

This training is for FPSW candidates who have applied to the Family Peer Support Program and have been approved to attend the certification training.
