Training Description
This 3-hour FREE virtual training is an opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. Safe Zone better equips your team to affirm and support LGBTQ+ customers, participants, students & community members.

Trainer:
Zed Serna, Families & Youth Innovations Plus (FYI+) La Vida Project
Trainer Bio:
Zed Serna (He/They) has facilitated the Safe Zone training for over three years and has brought his personal experience into every training session. He is an active member of the LGBTQ+ community and wants to provide resources to individuals expressing a need. Zed provides programming and services to youth and young adults (10 – 26 years old) within the FYI+ La Vida Project. He has received training in trauma-informed care and The Affirmative Couch curriculum. He is also the Secretary of the PFLAG Las Cruces Chapter. His main goal is to make LGBTQ+ individuals feel heard and safe.
