Welcome to the Center of Innovation for Behavioral Health and Wellbeing
The wellbeing and resilience of children, youth and families throughout New Mexico is enriched by an accessible, effective and responsive network of support.
Trauma Responsive Care Trainings help behavioral health providers and system partners learn and practice the skills necessary to genuinely assist in trauma healing and recovery.
This 2-day training is an opportunity for participants to learn the philosophy of QSR, cornerstones of best-practice, and become familiar with the QSR protocol and the process for applying QSR focus measures and indicator scoring.
Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is the core intervention model towards the mission of Infant Mental Health to mitigate the transmission of intergenerational trauma between parents and infants.
Safe Zone trainings are for all community stakeholders who work with children, youth, and families. Attend this training to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. Trainings are available once a month through December!
Who We Are
The Center of Innovation for Behavioral Health and Wellbeing at New Mexico State University was created to address the pressing need to strengthen and expand community behavioral health services across New Mexico. We are committed professionals dedicated to finding innovative solutions to some of New Mexico’s most complex challenges.
What We Do
The Center of Innovation provides training and program implementation support to ensure that community providers can learn and grow within a trauma-responsive environment and receive the necessary training and support to improve the quality of care across all communities.
Why We Do It
We believe that access to safe and equitable services is a fundamental right of all New Mexicans and it is our job as professionals working in the field to uphold the value of human dignity in all that we do.
Parents and Caregivers receive support from a Certified Family Peer Support Worker who has lived experience raising a child, or youth with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
NM High-Fidelity Wraparound provides intensive care coordination to youth and their families using an innovative value driven, team-based, holistic, and inclusive approach for supporting families with complex needs.
Youth MOVE (Motivating Others through Voices of Experience) New Mexico is a part of a national movement that supports young people to join local and statewide chapters centering youth driven organizing and advocacy around issues related to mental health and wellness.
Youth Peer Support is a community-based program that employs young people who have successfully navigated life challenges.
